Interim Bookkeeper / Finance Manger (Immediate Start)
Location: Near Henley-on-Thames
Rate: £17-£21 per hour + holiday pay
Duration: 2-3 months (potential to extend)
Working Pattern: 4-5 days per week, on-site

We are currently recruiting for an immediately available Bookkeeper / Finance Manager to join a well-established organisation on an interim basis. This opportunity has arisen while they hire perm, and the successful candidate will provide essential support during the transition period while a permanent hire is secured.

This is a varied, hands-on role within a small, close-knit team. The organisation operates at pace, and the successful candidate will need to be comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day finance processes, working independently, and adapting to changing priorities.

There will be an initial handover period with the outgoing Finance Manager, providing valuable insight into existing processes and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Full responsibility for accounts payable and receivable processes
2. Processing invoices, managing supplier payments, and handling queries
3. Managing customer invoicing and credit control where required
4. Processing payroll and administering pensions
5. Performing regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations
6. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records within Xero
7. Supporting general bookkeeping activities and ensuring financial data integrity
8. Assisting with ad hoc finance tasks to support the wider team

Key Requirements:

9. Proven experience in a bookkeeping or finance support role
10. Strong working knowledge of Xero is essential
11. Experience with payroll processing and pensions administration
12. Ability to quickly understand existing processes and work with minimal supervision
13. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
14. Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
15. Confident communicator, able to work effectively within a small team
16. A proactive and flexible approach to work

Additional Information:

17. Immediate start required, with a short handover period available
18. Based on-site near Henley-on-Thames
19. Likely duration of 2-3 months, with potential for extension depending on business needs and permanent recruitment timeline
20. This role may suit candidates between roles or those seeking a short-term interim assignment
