Job Title: Panel Wirer : Team Leader
Location: Southampton
Reports to: Metering Production Manager
Staff Responsibilities: Trainee Panel Wirers, Panel Wirers, Trainee Field Engineers (on site)
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (Mon:Fri 9:00am : 5:30pm) : overtime as required
Salary: GBP 35,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities
:Supervision and Support: Lead and motivate trainee panel wirers, panel wirers, and field engineers.
:Workshop Management: Maintain workshop housekeeping and enforce Health and Safety standards.
:Panel Assembly: Assemble and wire control panels, follow schematics, and meet project deadlines.
:Stock and Logistics: Assist in managing inventory levels.
:Testing and Quality Control: Perform injection testing, fault finding, final QA, and sign off test documents.
:Company Standards: Ensure procedures are followed and provide training where required.Personal Specification
Qualifications and Training
:Essential: Strong electrical knowledge; proven people management experience.
:Desirable: EAL Level 3 Panel Wiring Certificate; Level 3 People Management Certificate.
Experience
:Essential: Control panel assembly, inspection, and commissioning.
:Desirable: Experience managing a small team in a manufacturing environment.
Skills and Attributes
:Proficient in soldering, crimping, and wiring tasks.
:Able to read and interpret electrical schematics.
:Strong leadership, communication, time management, and organisational skills.
:Adaptable, resilient, and able to work independently while maintaining safety and quality.
