Job summary
Locum Consultant Haematologist - Interest in Lymphoma/CLL
Due to upcoming maternity leave, we have a 6 month Consultant Haematologist vacancy. We are ideally looking for someone with an interest in Lymphoma/CLL, however applicants with other sub-specialty interests would also be considered.
The successful applicant will join our existing friendly team of haemato-oncology consultants (FTE 9) and participate in a 1:13 rota supported by a 2 tier SHO & SpR on call rota. The vacancy is for a full-time (10PA contract) consultant, however less than full time applicants will also be considered.
University Hospitals Dorset already employ a number of joint, clinical and laboratory based, academic/educational posts with Southampton and Bournemouth Universities and applicants wanting to pursue these opportunities are encouraged.
Candidates must be on, or eligible for, the GMC specialist register, or be within 6 months of entry at time of interview.

* oWHO recognised Basic Medical Degree
* oFull GMC with a licence to practise

* oMD or PhD is not a requirement but would be looked upon favourably
clinical experience Essential
* oClinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT
* oEvidence of experience and expertise in the diagnosis and management of haematological malignancies
* oEvidence of the ability to offer expert clinical opinion in emergency and elective aspects of haematology taking full and independent responsibility for clinical decisions
* Evidence of up to date skills in the management of patients with acute haematological emergencies and level 3 care
* Confident in the diagnosis of haematological malignancies
* Confident in routine laboratory haematology including bone marrow reporting
* Evidence of an understanding of the structure of the NHS and how it works
