Please note this is a fixed‑term contract of 6‑12 months, offering part‑time hours of 27.5 hours a week across 3 days.

The Role
As an integral part of a multidisciplinary team working alongside consultants, you will carry out pre‑ and post‑operative consultations, assess the suitability of patients for treatment, and provide first‑line clinical advice. Your key responsibilities include:
* Carry out examinations associated with cataract surgery
* Run acute and follow‑up clinics postsurgery, documenting findings in electronic medical record systems
* Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital
* Provide first‑line clinical advice and refer to a medical practitioner when necessary
* Ensure awareness of equipment safety precautions and handling within the clinical competency framework
* Maintain awareness of CQC policies and attend all mandatory update courses
Requirements
* Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist
* Extensive experience working as an optometrist in a refractive, high‑street or hospital environment
* Experience using patient administration systems and electronic medical record systems
* Experience working to conversion targets and other KPIs within vision correction
