Salary: £34,416 – £35,448 per annum (Grade 6, SCP 18–20 – Outer London)

Hours: 36 hours per week (08:30 – 16:30) | 52.14 weeks per year

Our client, a successful and oversubscribed coeducational secondary school based in Upminster, is seeking to appoint an ambitious and experienced Attendance Officer to join their dynamic support staff team. The Role:
As Attendance Officer, you will take a lead role in managing and improving whole-school attendance. Working closely with students, families, and external agencies, you will monitor and analyse attendance data, implement intervention strategies, and ensure compliance with attendance legislation. This is a key pastoral role within the school’s wider safeguarding and inclusion strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and track student attendance, identifying patterns and concerns
* Liaise with families to offer guidance and support around attendance issues
* Work with the senior leadership team and external agencies to implement attendance strategies
* Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting in line with statutory guidelines
* Champion excellent attendance and punctuality across the school community
The Ideal Candidate:
* A proven track record of working in a school or similar environment in a similar role
* In-depth knowledge of attendance legislation and safeguarding practices
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with students, families, and staff
* Highly organised with strong data analysis and administrative skills
* A clear communicator with the drive to improve outcomes for all students
