About Our Opportunity:

Are you looking to have a sustainable career? Whilst truly making the world better, fairer and greener for the next generation.
You will be a true hero in the eyes of future generations to come. By playing a key part in our bold commitment to transform our business into a provider of net-zero carbon sustainable materials by 2040. You truly will be making the world a better place to live for the next generation.
We require a Multis skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team as a key maintenance team member. You will carry out reactive, predictive, and planned maintenance, ensuring the efficient operation of our plant and equipment.

What You Will Be Doing:
Our maintenance team members are significant to our depots, without their knowledge and experience in reactive and planned maintenance, we could come to a standstill.
You could be performing a range of mechanical and electrical activities to ensure the plant runs efficiently. Previous experience of working in a heavy industrial environment would be beneficial.
Some other duties you would take on are:
• Implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring issues and contribute to long-term solutions.
• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to ensure plant efficiency.
• Conduct and provide guidance in risk analysis, developing SOPs and improvement plans.
• Maintain critical spares for routine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot issues and share learnings to improve performance across the company.
• Liaise with contractors, ensuring correct RAMS are in place before work commencement and adherence during tasks.
• Keep all documentation up to date in the CMMS system.
• Assist in completing remedial work identified through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules.

About You:
• A nationally recognised Mechanical or Electrical time-served apprenticeship (minimum Level 3).
• Multi-skilled experience (ideally 70/30 mechanical to electrical split).
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, welding, and fabrication.
• Strong understanding of maintenance and operational practices, processes, and procedures covering a range of plant and equipment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Who we are:

‘Our purpose is to create a future where the materials we use don’t need to be extracted from the planet.’

At EMR, we give new life to unwanted materials. Every year, we recycle 10 million tonnes of metals and plastics, saving 19 million tonnes of carbon from entering the Earth’s atmosphere, diverting waste from landfill and protecting resources and habitats.

We couldn’t do any of this without our team members. In return for all they do, we do everything we can to create an environment of belonging, value, support and growth.

We’re proud to have achieved Great Place To Work status, but it’s about so much more than a badge. It’s about being recognised by our people for the continuous work we do to do better for them:

‘The people who work here are from varied backgrounds and have a variety of beliefs, all of which are accepted and respected.’

‘I’m encouraged to keep a healthy work-life balance so that I can be performing at my best.’

‘I’ve been supported every step of the way in my career progression.’

‘‘EMR offers a fantastic and inclusive environment; collaboration across the whole business, humility and hard work.’
