Job Description
Join the UK Networks team as part of the Networks Budget Governance function, responsible for financial governance of a multi‑billion‑pound $capex/$opex budget across the network infrastructure. You will support investment planning and delivery through financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and process improvement.
Responsibilities
* Lead end‑to‑end financial performance reporting across Networks, including forecasting, budget tracking, variance analysis and re‑forecasting.
* Deliver capex and opex reporting, providing clear insight into performance, risks and opportunities.
* Identify and track financial risks, ensuring alignment to the budget and proactively flagging emerging issues.
* Support planning cycles including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and financial reviews.
* Drive insight through performance analysis, joint business planning tracking and synergy monitoring.
* Improve reporting processes through automation and standardisation to reduce manual effort and increase speed of insight.
* Build strong relationships with Finance, PMO and operational teams to provide trusted financial support.
* Contribute to AI‑driven and self‑serve reporting capabilities to enhance data accessibility and decision‑making.
Qualifications
Strong analytical mindset and ability to turn complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders in a fast‑paced delivery environment.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability, with advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, automation).
* Experience with financial reporting, forecasting or performance analysis in a complex environment.
* Ability to build and maintain reporting tools (Power BI experience is beneficial).
* Confident communicator who can challenge constructively and influence stakeholders.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
* Experience in governance, PMO or structured delivery environments.
* Understanding of financial processes, systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle) or data‑driven decision‑making.
* Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and process optimisation.
