Overview
Calling all Mental Health Occupational Therapists. This is an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Occupational Therapist within the Redbridge Integrated Care Directorate. The post of Band 6 Community Occupational Therapist/Care coordinator is part of the Redbridge Mental Health and Wellness Team (MHWT) – South. Our integrated teams provide assessment, brief intervention, and recovery services to clients in Redbridge. The team consists of Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, IPS workers, Peer support workers, STR workers, and Psychologists.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist functional assessments and conduct assessments of daily living skills using the Model of Human Occupational Assessment tools to ascertain level of functional ability, related risk factors, level of support, and accommodation needs in order to implement community care plans, provide adaptive equipment and maintain a high standard of service user care.
* Jointly lead and support the facilitation and delivery of group programmes alongside OT staff, Support Time Recovery Workers, and Peer Support Workers.
* Collaboratively work with IPS employment workers to support service users with their employment goals.
* Undertake comprehensive assessment of health and social needs together with the service users, implement a plan of care and intervention to meet these needs, and ensure regular reviews are in place for evaluation of the care plan.
* Ensure carers and family are included and supported in care planning and facilitate and implement safeguarding children and adults policy requirements.

Induction & Probation
The post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period unless you are currently part way through a probationary period or a bank member of staff. New starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. Induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Working Hours & Location
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. A car driver would be desirable but not essential. The role is full time and located in Redbridge.

Hiring Notes
The post attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary pro rata for part-time staff. Certifications of sponsorship are not available for all roles; please check eligibility under the UKVI points based system.
