The Role
A fantastic early careers opportunity for a school or college leaver to join our fantastic Engineering team. As one of our apprentices, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop skills across all aspects of our engineering operations, while working alongside experienced professionals to further bolster your skills & knowledge. You will also learn how to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to learn from the ground up in a dynamic food production environment, with exposure to everything from mechanical breakdowns, planned corrective maintenance, planned inspections and factory automation projects.
Our apprentices will attend college on a day release basis and can expect to undergo extensive training to learn engineering fundamentals and how to apply them in real world situations. This is a great opportunity to work and learn with the best and perfect for individuals interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing engineering & sustainable food production. You'll need to have a genuine interest in how things work and be willing to take on a four-year apprenticeship program. You must have good communication skills and be self-motivated. You'll also need to employ good housekeeping standards and work within our Health and Safety guidelines.
What training will take place?
Maintenance performs a vital role in keeping the engineering assets working. Through your apprenticeship you will learn to keep equipment performance to a maximum, undertake preventative maintenance as well as diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs. Training elements to be included:
1. Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship
2. Shadowing a trained engineer on site
3. Basic first aid at work
4. Abrasive wheel training
5. Harness training
6. Weekly college-based learning
Key Responsibilities
7. Assisting engineers with machinery & equipment breakdowns
8. Assisting engineers with planned corrective maintenance
9. Assisting engineers with planned inspections

10. GCSE or equivalent English & English (Grade 4 or above) desirable
11. A passion for engineering and a strong desire to learn and develop skills in engineering
12. Strong work ethic and willingness to take on physical tasks
13. Effective communication and teamwork skills
14. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines
