Equifind is recruiting for a Head of Finance to join a fast-growing asset management group. Based in the City of London, the firm requires onsite presence four days per week.
The role sits within the finance team and will deputise for the CFO across internal and external reporting, as well as fund finance and operations. You’ll be joining a small, entrepreneurial platform, so a true startup mentality is essential. At times, that means rolling your sleeves up and handling tasks that may feel below your level, but equally, and more often than not, you’ll be exposed to work and responsibilities far beyond it!
As AI and technology continue to automate more routine finance functions, the business is increasingly focused on commercially minded professionals who can contribute to investment discussions and add value across fund operations, structuring, and broader deal strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead the preparation of internal and external financial reporting, including board packs, investor reporting, and regulatory submissions.
* Ownership of the YE reporting process across the group, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of statutory accounts.
* Lead the group audit process end-to-end, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors and managing all audit deliverables, technical queries, and reporting requirements.
* Oversee finance operations, including liquidity management, capital calls/distributions, reconciliations, and coordination with external administrators and auditors.
* Partner with investment team to support deal execution, portfolio analysis, structuring, and commercial decision-making.
* Drive process improvement, systems development, and automation initiatives across the finance function to improve scalability and efficiency.
* Support the continued growth of the platform by taking on a broad range of strategic and operational responsibilities within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Application Requirements:
* Qualified accounting qualification.
* A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar reporting role with a strong technical grounding in reporting, tax and audit.
* Experience of working within financial services, preferably in the alternative asset management sector
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
