Clinical Healthy Child Practice Manager (HCPM) for the South and West Ipswich Health Visiting teams, based at Wellington Family Hub, 52 Chevalier Street, Ipswich, IP1 2PB

You will:

* be at the forefront of managing change, driving performance and continuous improvement whilst leading high-quality services and effective ways of working
* lead the teams in their planning and reviewing of service delivery to ensure that this is of high quality to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and their families
* directly manage and lead staff, alongside resources and projects which focus on the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual wellbeing of children and their family, from pregnancy to 5 years through the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme and the Children’s Centre Statutory Framework as outlined in the Health and Children’s Centre Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and in accordance with our clinical governance framework
* alongside other public-sector partners, voluntary sector, and communities to engage and enable community led activity through the Health and Children’s Centres, developing resilient communities which rely less on public services.

Your role and responsibilities

* lead and manage your team to develop high quality practice through supervision, mentorship, and performance development reviews. This will include embedding effective ways of working using Signs of Safety disciplines and tools
* apply a strengths-based approach to practice consistent with that of Signs of Safety (SOS) and use the SOS principles, disciplines, and tools
* lead continuous service improvement and ensure high quality provision of services are delivered in compliance with plans for future service development and in line with national guidance and service specification
* ensure the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme to all children, young people, and their families, including fathers, starting in the ante-natal period
* ensure staff work in accordance with regulatory and statutory documents, legal frameworks, NICE guidance and Suffolk County Council policy and procedures
* create and maintain a learning culture by modelling effective practice, building on research and support colleagues to meet the educational and developmental needs of all the team members, including students.

You will need:

* SCPHN Health Visiting qualification
* NMC registration
* Clinical experience and skills
* Leadership and management experience and skills
* Managing change experience and skills
* Managing projects experience and skills
* Experience relating to performance, quality, and service improvement.

The team

Suffolk’s Health (0-19) and Children’s Centres provide services for both prospective and existing parents/carers, children, and young people, focusing on the earliest point of intervention to enable the best outcomes for children. Supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child programme, a prevention and early intervention public health programme that lies at the heart of the universal service for children and families and aims to improve health outcomes and ensure those at risk are identified at the earliest opportunity.

The Health and Children’s Centres services provided must:

* meet the needs of children from pre-birth to 19 (25 for SEND) years and their families
* relate closely to the needs of the community and the reach profile of the area served by the centre and team
* target the largest resource to the highest need, whilst ensuring appropriate universal provision is accessible for all
* help children, young people, and their families regardless of where they live in Suffolk develop independence rather than dependency
* strive to ensure services are not hard to access
* strengthen the family network and build family resilience
* help build a stronger community where families have a sense of belonging
* Suffolk Health (0-19/25 for SEND) and Children’s Centres will support the development of children, young people, and their families through reducing social isolation, promoting wellbeing, increasing parental capacity, and supporting access to training and employment.
