Job Description:
We are working in partnership with a community-based Church of England Primary school to recruit an energetic Year 2 teacher in West Warrington. A successful candidate should be able to interview quickly with a view to starting their new role in conjunction with the September 2024 term. The school promotes a nurturing environment for both staff and pupils and is keen to meet passionate educators. Our school invites proactive, caring, and dedicated individuals to apply for a teaching role, helping young learners to excel and thrive in education. They promote a warm and supportive working environment and aim to build a school community that improves the local area.
The school is passionate about reading and enrichment opportunities for children and does have additional needs in the mainstream environment. Full teaching roles and responsibilities will be required. They are looking for someone confident with behaviour management, preferably a strong ECT or experienced teacher. ECT mentorship is available for the right candidate.
Your new school sets high standards for both staff and children, incorporating values of ambition, respect, and courage. You will be expected to establish effective communication and build lasting relationships with students and staff. You will be encouraged to participate in community extracurricular events and strengthen existing relationships. The school promotes curiosity in children and encourages an enthusiastic approach to teaching. It features outdoor areas and nature walks to develop pupils' love for nature, with good travel links to St Helens, Widnes, and Liverpool.
Your new role will include lesson planning, delivery to Year 2 pupils, behaviour management, and differentiating materials to meet attainment needs. You will collaborate with staff, work with SENDCo and pastoral teams to provide tracking and support, and participate in CPD opportunities. You will be involved in reading intervention models to improve literacy. The class has moderate SEND needs, and you will direct support staff as needed. The school can support ECTs and prefers candidates who have completed some terms of their ECT training. A passion for KS1 is essential.
What you will need to succeed:
* Recent experience of teaching in primary school.
* Provide relevant references.
* Have QTS or ECT status.
* Knowledge of primary curriculum.
* Enthusiasm, energy, and flexibility.
* Highly motivated and driven to exceed expectations.
* Up-to-date DBS preferred (Hays can supply if needed).
* ECTs will be considered.
What will you get in return?
By registering with Hays Education, you will receive support from a DfE accredited recruitment expert and enjoy benefits such as CV and interview advice, free professional development training, access to permanent vacancies, and the option to join our guarantee scheme. You will also benefit from competitive pay rates, holiday pay, and a £250 reward voucher when you refer a colleague.
