Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Residential Care Location: Rochdale, OL11 Salary: £14.25 – £16.50 per hour sleep-ins (£50 per sleep-in) Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Shift Pattern: Includes evenings, weekends & sleep-ins Setting: Children’s Residential Home Are you a confident, compassionate, and experienced residential childcare professional looking to step into a senior role? We are seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well‑established children’s residential home providing high-quality care for young people with emotional, behavioural, and complex needs. As a Senior RSW, you will help lead the day-to-day running of the home, providing guidance and support to the team while ensuring children receive safe, nurturing, and consistent care. You will play a key role in promoting positive outcomes, emotional wellbeing, and resilience for young people aged 10–18. Key Responsibilities • Deliver person-centred care in line with individual care and placement plans • Build positive, trusting, and therapeutic relationships with young people • Support the development of life skills, independence, and emotional resilience • Lead shifts confidently in the absence of management • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals • Support rota planning and ensure adequate staffing levels Requirements • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) • Willingness to work towards Level 5 Leadership & Management • Significant experience in residential childcare • Experience supporting children with EBD/SEMH or complex needs • Experience leading shifts and supporting junior staff • Strong communication, leadership, and relationship‑building skills • Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and behaviour support What’s on Offer • Ongoing training, supervision, and professional development • Clear career progression pathways • Supportive management and a positive, child‑centred environment Join a service that values high-quality care, strong leadership, and making a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people
