We are currently looking for committed, passionate and experienced Social Workers to join our newly implemented Front Door Service.
Following the Solihull Joint Targeted Area Inspection, and recent social care reviews, Hertfordshire Children’s Services have reviewed and restructured their front door to provide an enhanced level of resource across their Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub service. The service incorporates the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) function in addition to triaging requests for support for Hertfordshire’s Children and Families. The service consists of committed and highly skilled social care staff, including social workers, who are based at the forefront of our safeguarding model. Our aim is to provide children and families with a timely response to ensure that children are safeguarded, and intervention is offered at the most appropriate level to meet the child’s needs.
Within the Front Door MASH service you will have a manageable caseload and will be the first point of contact for families, in addition to collaborating with our partner agencies to share vital information including Police, Probation, Health, Education, and Housing. Our Front Door MASH teams are staffed by experienced, qualified social workers who are passionate about safeguarding and work collaboratively with fellow professionals, children and their families to ensure that effective and timely support and safeguarding measures are put in place.
If you enjoy the challenge of a diverse caseload then this could be the job for you. You will be screening contacts and communicating with families in crisis and will need to evidence a calm and supportive approach, whilst maintaining your focus on the needs of the child.
The work is fast paced and requires a high level of autonomous working, you will therefore be a highly skilled and experienced safeguarding social worker.
Requirements:
1. You will need to have at least 1 year post qualified experienced as a social worker, registered with Social Work England.
2. Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, in addition to having good computer skills.
3. Ability to work autonomously whilst being a team player.
4. Excellent organisational skills to ensure that work is prioritised and completed within the set timescales.
5. Sound analytical skills to make robust recommendations and plans.
6. Effective rapport building skills ability to demonstrate professional curiosity.
7. Ability to maintain a good standard of work in a fast-paced environment.
8. Additional specialisms in areas such as child exploitation or contextualised safeguarding would be welcomed as such knowledge and expertise would enhance the function and performance of our newly developed Front Door teams.
This is an office-based team, with some opportunity for hybrid working and you will be undertaking your work on the phone and via internal systems and email.
Interviews will be arranged on an ad hoc basis depending on availability.
