About us
The Retail Field Sales team is a core part of Dyson’s Sales Department. We are seeking an Area Manager to cover a temporary leave of absence. The role is for a defined period, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs.
We are looking for a candidate with experience in people management who is aiming to expand and develop their commercial leadership skills.
As an Area Manager, you will drive product sales through your team of Experts, and build awareness for the Dyson brand within our retailers’ stores. Regionally based, you will work closely with your team of experts and Dyson ambassadors, and foster relationships with account management, retail activation and marketing teams to ensure Dyson’s sales strategy is delivered in your area.
The region
We are looking for an area manager for the central-northern area, ideally located in Madrid. The region consists out of a portfolio of 150 points of sale and 22 direct reports.
About the role
Driving sales growth in your region
1. Ownership of total Sell-Out performance of all doors within the given region.
2. Analyze weekly sales data and market trends to identify opportunities and define clear / strong short & long term actions.
3. Weekly presentation of the Sell-Out results within your area
4. Overall goal is to increase Dyson sales within your region in a sustainable way.
People Management
5. Lead the performance management, motivation and capability of your teams of Experts to ensure delivery against their sales targets.
6. Conduct meaningful 1:1’s, driving a high performance team. Hold development discussions and ensure these are captured and acted on with the individual.
7. Conduct field visit with the senior expert in your region to motivate, coach and develop the team of seniors.
8. Liaise with the Retail operations & activations team to ensure Excellence in execution.
9. Conduct in store training sessions with demonstrators as necessary and particularly in connection to the launch of NPD.
Ensure operational excellence
10. Merchandise retail stores with correct point of sale materials and achieve a minimum standard instore upon entry to store, as well as exit through excellent in store relations and strong business conversations.
11. Ensure Dyson displays are clean, tidy and shoppable.
Build brand advocacy with retailers
12. Build and maintain effective relationships with store CCO, department manager, Regional Operational Managers and key influencers.
13. Negotiate, set up, and implement additional display space in store for an agreed time frame.
14. Promote the full range of Dyson products including accessories, environmental control and non-floor care, highlighting key technology and NPD.
About you
15. Native Spanish speaker; professional proficiency in English.
16. Driving license.
17. Previous experience of People Management.
18. Previous target driven experience required.
19. Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective cross departmental working.
20. High level of PC skills, including all Microsoft Office programs.
21. Excellent organizational and planning ability.
22. Strong analytical ability.
23. Excellent communication skills both internally and externally with the ability to influence at all levels.
24. Creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
25. Proactive, driven and enthusiastic approach to work.
