Join a close-knit team making a meaningful difference every day. Ashmount Care Home, Omagh is a purpose-built luxury facility which provides care for individuals with mental health needs. The home is registered for 15 residents. The home is divided into 2 units. The ground floor provides nursing care for 7 individuals, and the first floor provides nursing care for 8 individuals
As a newly registered home manager, you will have the opportunity and responsibility to create a successful person centred opening of a brand new care home, overseeing the set up of every aspect of the home from back of house through to recruiting and training your own team of dedicated care staff, empowering positive influence within your team and welcoming our new residents to their home with dignity and respect.
This role will require strong leadership skills, resident first focus, operational management of budgets and staffing.
You will not be alone on this journey, you will have the benefit of incredible support from an already established senior leadership team with dedicated compliance and regulatory support from our Responsible Individual, Operational and Human Resource support, as well as complimentary support from our finance team. Also, on hand will be our existing loyal team of Home Managers who will answer any questions and assist with your own induction journey to becoming a trusted member of the Wood Green Healthcare management team

Tasks
To maintain a high-quality service working in partnership with colleagues to manage services. To ensure the service meets, and indeed exceeds, the requirements of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the RQIA guidance ‘Essential Standards of Quality & Safety’. To ensure the delivery of safe, personalised services to each individual service user through assessment, person centred planning and regular outcome focussed reviews of services. To ensure compliance with company Development & Training and Supervision Policies.
To ensure the delivery of person-centred care that promotes independence, choice and dignity to empower people to live as independently as possible. To ensure care/support services are structured in a way that provides flexibility, reliability, and continuity. To ensure services are accessible.
To ensure the development of robust systems and procedures. To ensure the service is appropriately resourced with the right number of suitably qualified, skilled, and experienced staff. To ensure that all new referrals are responded to in a timely manner in line with contractual and organisational timescales. To oversee the co-ordination of care workers across all areas.
To deliver services that ensure the Organisation’s duty of care to the service user and staff providing the service. To ensure good communication and links with all stakeholders with regard to the provision of services including commissioners, service users, relatives, social work teams etc.
To ensure the office is resourced during office hours and ensure the provision of an effective out of hours on-call service. Service Development In partnership with the senior management team participate in the strategic development of the organisation and assist with the identification and development of strategies for the planning and delivery of quality, innovative services.
Requirements
Essential criteria
In addition to an enthusiastic attitude and a positive approach, we are looking for individuals who demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:
4 years experience as a Registered Nurse, 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Previous experience of working within a professional care environment
Experience of documentation preparation, reporting and care planning
A genuine interest and passion for working with people with various care needs and making a positive difference to all aspects of their daily living experience.
A confident communicator with a good command of the English language, both written and spoken, who builds rapport easily with residents, relatives and colleagues
A natural leader who leads by example, inspires and encourages their team to deliver excellence through ongoing coaching, mentorship and support
A team player who can work effectively as a key member of a care team which is focused on delivering excellence.
Kindness, empathy and an acute understanding of the challenges facing residents as they come to terms with living in a new care environment.
Live registration with NMC, satisfactory to the company.
A satisfactory Enhanced Access NI check.
Desirable criteria
Level 5 Management qualification
‘Registration’ related qualification and/or experience
Assessment skills
Supervisory experience and/or experience acting as a team leader, buddy or mentor to others
Previous experience and/or qualification in activity co-ordination
