HEALTH, HYGIENE & HYDRO CARE ASSISTANTS

4 Hours a day – 5 days a week

Here at Ysgol Robert Owen we have an incredible school filled with amazing young people with additional learning needs. To ensure our students get the best out of their day, in a way that benefits them, we are looking for HHCA’s to support with Health, Hygiene & Hydro Care for our students.

Primary Role - To assist pupils with their day-to-day personal care needs & support and to work alongside other professional staff to further pupils’ independence, therapy and life skills.

You’ll be

  • Working as part of a team in the implementation of personal care programmes for the pupils.
  • Assisting pupils with their own care programme during the school day, specifically in relation to practical support with:
  • Personal hygiene
  • Toileting and continence training
  • Eating and drinking
  • Hydrotherapy sessions
  • Keeping records related to personal care in conjunction with the appropriate team leader.
  • Maintain and clean personal care equipment and materials, clothing etc.
  • Providing personal assistance to identified pupil/pupils in physical/practical activities e.g. physical education, cookery. Therapeutic sessions.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service training and courses.
  • Work in co-operation with other key workers involved in supporting the pupils’ individual development plan – IDP and health care needs under the guidance of the class team.
  • Work within the framework of the schools agreed policies and procedures.

    • Prior experience is welcome but not essential — if you have the right attitude and a willingness to learn, we’ll provide full training and development opportunities.
