The Role and Purpose
We are commissioned by Swansea Council to deliver the School Based Counselling service for children and young people aged 5 - 18.
We will provide a safe, accessible, independent School-Based Counselling Service and wellbeing support for 5–19-year-olds. Platfform’s Relational and Trauma-Informed Framework underpins our work, and we use strengths-based methodologies grounded in Attachment Theory and the power of connection/relationships for healing.
We will provide a flexible service which has young people at the heart and is responsive to needs, by tailoring the level and type of intervention. There is a strong emphasis on this service being developed alongside children and young people so that it understands and meets their needs. The service will provide one-to-one wellbeing support, group-based activities, including therapeutic interventions, social events and community led initiatives.
We are looking for a well-organised and versatile individual to work with the wider team in delivering a school-based counselling service in Swansea, South Wales. The counsellor will be representing Platfform and will therefore need to behave in a professional and ethical way and to respond to suggestions and colleagues in a positive and helpful way.
The counsellor will be required to work face-to-face /online at variable Swansea schools, holding a caseload of clients and running groups as well as undertaking assessments and assisting the Lead Service Manager with the smooth running of Platfform School-based
Access to your own vehicle and a full driving license is essential.
