The IT systems within our client’s architects firm are critical to their ongoing operations, including operational management, communications, data storage (including security/access), and design functions. The IT Apprentice’s role is to coordinate this work and to recognise and escalate support to the IT Manager as and when necessary.
Duties
1. Provide technical support to end-users, both in person and remotely
2. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software
3. Implement security of the network, data and its storage and communication systems
4. Assist with network administration tasks, including setting up user accounts and permissions
5. Work together with other managers and directors in relation to IT matters
6. Help manage the process for achieving agreed standards for Cyber Security and protocol
7. Discuss, agree and maintain IT elements of the Business Continuity Plan
8. Assist in ensuring that the company operates within the law in relation to copyright licencing and assists with Data management (GDPR)
9. Document technical procedures and create user guides.
10. Collaborate with the IT Manager to implement new technologies and upgrades.
About you
To be an IT Technician Apprentice, you must be a tech enthusiast with 5 GCSEs (ideally A* – C, 4-9) including Maths and English.
This 16-month Apprenticeship has a salary of £20, per year.
Your training will include gaining internationally recognised Level 3 IT qualifications.
