About the Role
Senior Lawyer (Housing).
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of housing litigation, including possession proceedings, injunctions, disrepair claims, and related public law challenges.
* Draft and review legal documents, agreements, and policies with a focus on clarity and risk management.
* Represent the Council in court where appropriate and liaise with external counsel as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* A legal qualification (Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive) with rights of audience.
* Working knowledge of property law, particularly land ownership, tenancies, and local authority functions.
* Strong communication skills to convey complex issues to non‑lawyers.
* Experience in housing law, public law, or civil litigation, or a strong foundation with a willingness to develop.
