To lead, motivate and manage a team of approximately 35 warehouse operatives across the AM shift, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate picking and dispatch of goods in a fast‑paced distribution environment. The role is critical in driving performance, maintaining high operational standards, and supporting continuous improvement.
The working hours for this role are 6am-2pm with flexibility to cover other shifts on occasions when the business needs.

Responsibilities
* Lead and manage warehouse teams, ensuring clear communication and consistent standards.
* Drive operational performance to meet productivity, accuracy, and service level targets.
* Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet daily workload and peak demand.
* Monitor KPIs (pick rates, accuracy, attendance) and take corrective action where required.
* Promote a strong health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
* Coach, develop and support champions and operatives to improve capability and engagement.
* Manage performance, conduct reviews, and address any conduct or capability issues in line with HR policies.
* Ensure efficient workflow in a high‑volume, fast‑moving warehouse environment.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
* Work collaboratively with other departments (Transport, senior managers, health & safety, and HR).
Qualifications
* Working knowledge of the warehouse function within the FMCG distribution industry.
* Knowledge of the business and operational aspects of supervising a depot warehouse operation; general knowledge of the transport function is an advantage.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to manage and train colleagues.
* Computer skills – daily use of the MS Office suite.
* Results‑driven with a strong focus on operational excellence.
* Confident decision‑maker with a proactive approach.
* Highly organised with attention to detail.
* Team‑focused with the ability to build strong working relationships.
