St Andrews Support Practitioner
Full‑time positions available. Earn up to £26,526.23 per year pro rata.
Pay is at least the Real Living Wage, currently £13.45 per hour (£25,947.47 pro rata). After successfully completing probation, the hourly rate increases to £13.75 (£26,526.23 pro rata). The role includes a guaranteed pay progression that reflects the commitment, skill and consistency required.
We support around 20 individuals living independently in their own flats. All flats are located within the same building creating a welcoming community, with no travel required between sites. The service is located just a 5‑minute walk from St Andrews bus station.
Shift patterns run across 7 days, with early shifts starting from 7 am and late shifts finishing at 10 pm. Sleep‑over shifts (working during the day, sleeping over in the service and working again the next day) are a requirement. A sleep‑over period is paid as an additional payment of £100.80.
Responsibilities
* Work with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
* Communicate and work well with supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
* Take responsibility for supporting individuals throughout activities, giving positive feedback and encouragement.
* Update and maintain accurate records using a tablet on Ark’s Information Management system.
* Provide personal care where required, in a respectful and dignified way.
Qualifications and Training
* No previous experience required – full training is provided.
* SVQ2 in Health & Social Care is fully funded and can be completed while working.
* Previous experience is an advantage but not essential.
