Overview
Role: Customer Delivery Driver - Chesterfield Extra at Tesco. This hands-on, varied role involves delivering to customers and providing great service with a smile. Pay starts from £13.35 per hour and rises to £14.56 per hour for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with the option to work as few as 12 hours if desired.
Availability windows describe the times you are asked to be available. Contracted hours are scheduled within these times, with 3 weeks’ notice of shifts. We can support flexibility if your available times differ slightly from the advertised times.
Responsibilities
* Deliver your part of the customer shopping trip by ensuring the van and trays you use are clean and tidy.
* Leave the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and pick up litter as you see it.
* Ensure trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van and check the van for roadworthiness.
* Talk to the customer about any changes to their order, including substitutions, offering a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
* Take care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explain substitutions to the customer and confirm they will not be charged more for substitutions.
* Deliver within the customer’s time slot.
* Call the customer before arriving at their property if you are early.
* Call the store/centre if you are running 30 minutes or more late.
You will need
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and ensure the store is the best it can be for customers.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say "Thank you."
* Act quickly to respond to the changing needs of our customers and embrace change within the store.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work commitments.
* Share ideas with your Manager and other colleagues on how we can improve the store for customers.
* A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
