Sports Coach
Location: Darwen
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 3:20pm, Friday: 8:00am – 2:30pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about using sport to engage and motivate young people? Do you have the resilience and confidence to support students with additional behavioural needs in a specialist setting?
We are currently recruiting for a Sports Coach to join a Secondary Specialist Provision in Darwen, supporting pupils who benefit from a tailored and nurturing educational approach.
Role Overview:
As a Sports Coach, you will:
* Deliver structured and engaging sports sessions throughout the school day
* Encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and personal development in students
* Provide general classroom support and assist with Teaching Assistant duties when needed
* Build strong, supportive relationships with students who may present challenging behaviour
* Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to create a positive and safe environment
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in sports, fitness, youth work, or education
* Confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
* Adaptable, calm under pressure, and committed to supporting young people
* Willing to take on general TA responsibilities across the school day
A background in education or previous experience working in an Alternative Provision, PRU, or SEMH setting is highly desirable.
