ABOUT THE ROLE
Facilities & Estates is made up of several business areas including Commercial Services, Facilities Services, Campus Planning and Development, and Accommodation.
We are looking to appoint an organized and proactive Facilities Coordinator to join our Facilities Management team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our campus buildings and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality and professional support services across the estate with a primary presence at the main City Centre campus, with the expectation to travel to our Coach Lane campus as needed.
You will be required to support the Facilities Manager in delivering a range of facilities activities across the campuses, including coordinating and supervising services and suppliers (e.g., cleaning, window cleaning, waste, grounds maintenance, porterage, inspections and audits, estate configuration, etc.). You will also collaborate with external contractors and vendors, ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to university policies. You will operate to deliver an effective and cost-efficient service within Service Level Agreements (performance standards, value for money, continuous improvement initiatives), all aligned with customer needs.
You will provide management and supervision within your area of responsibility. Additionally, you will monitor and manage service activity, budgets, health and safety, and develop management information for future planning, organization, and decision-making.
You should have a wide range of facilities management and leadership experience; good planning and organization skills; and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and develop staff to create a high-performing team are essential. You should have a passion for providing exceptional customer service and proactively identifying and implementing changes that have measurable business benefits.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Working within a small team of Facilities Coordinators, the post holder will primarily be located at City Campus but may have responsibilities for and be required to attend Coach Lane campus and visit other university buildings as needed by the Facilities Manager.

* Demonstrable experience working within facilities management and delivering service solutions at a comparable scale
* Experience managing large groups of staff
* Experience planning and organizing your own and others' activities
* Experience working independently and dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances
It is expected that the successful candidate will have a qualification to HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline and hold a valid IOSH Health and Safety qualification.
