As a Warranty Engineer, you will support the quality function by managing warranty claims, including processing customer returns.
Warranty Engineer - Main Responsibilities
1. Testing and reporting on main product lines of rotating electrics, including starter motors, alternators, clutches, and other aftermarket products.
2. Producing reports based on testing and disassembly of components.
3. Working towards a 48-hour turnaround for claims.
4. Collaborating daily with the Quality team using a QRQC mindset to solve problems.
5. Accepting or rejecting standard warranty claims in line with current service offerings.
6. Inspecting and validating accepted returns.
7. Administering all accepted returns.
8. Liaising directly with customers when required.
9. Inspecting and validating rejected returns and returning products with detailed rejection letters.
10. Developing and improving inspection standards within each product family.
11. Continuously improving internal processes.
12. Engaging in internal and external value-added activities.
13. Promoting best practices to reduce warranty costs.
14. Coaching customers to diagnose faults effectively.
15. Controlling physical inventory of warranty units and managing stock movement via Valeo's SAP system.
16. Authorising Goods Returns numbers.
17. Conducting periodic customer support visits.
18. Providing analysis on returns by product, supplier, and customer to reduce warranty returns.
19. Preparing monthly reports.
