We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Club Steward/ Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our vibrant club. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and team management, with a passion for delivering exceptional service. As the Club Steward/ Bar Manager, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for our members and guests, ensuring high standards of food and drink safety and quality, and leading a dedicated team to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities
* Supervise daily club operations, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to policies.
* Manage and train staff in hospitality best practices, including bartending and drink preparation techniques.
* Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership.
* Handle customer inquiries and feedback promptly, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
* Collaborate with the committee team to promote club events and activities.
* Maintain inventory levels for food, beverages, and supplies; order as necessary.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the club premises.
* Manage the bar staff rota to ensure the required amount of staff is on-site at all times.
* Recruit and train all new bar staff, both permanent and temporary.
* Stock Management.
* Bar and Cellar work including hand pulled ales.
* Cash handling.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a managerial role within a similar industry.
* Strong skills in team management, with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
* A passion for providing outstanding customer service and enhancing member experiences.
* Previous experience in bartending or similar roles is an advantage.

Hours of Opening
* Monday – Friday 6.30pm – 11.00pm
* Friday 6.30pm – 11.00pm
* Sat 12.00pm – 3pm / 6.30-11.30pm
* Sun 12.00 – 3pm 6.30pm – 11pm
The working week will be 5 days, some of which will include hours outside of the normal opening times to cover tasks such as ordering, deliveries, line cleaning, cash handling and banking weekly cash. The hours and shift plans are negotiable and flexible to suit both the club needs and the successful candidate.
