SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Support Location: South Shields Pay: £90–£110 per day Contract: Long-term, potential for permanent This SEN Teaching Assistant role is based in a specialist or resourced provision supporting pupils with autism. The school places strong emphasis on routine, structure and communication-based approaches. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored support to pupils with autism Use visual timetables and structured learning approaches Support communication and social interaction Assist with emotional regulation and transitions Work closely with teachers and specialist staff The Ideal Candidate Experience working with autism or SEND Understanding of behaviour as communication Calm, consistent and empathetic approach All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
