There’s a team looking for a Production Technician who actually enjoys the technical side of things - someone who’s comfortable working with detailed information and making sure every product going into a building is properly coordinated and accounted for. If you like working through drawings, schedules and data and turning all of it into clarity for everyone else, you’ll fit in well here. Most of their projects are residential, ranging from small one-off homes to large multi-phase developments with hundreds of units. Things move quickly and there’s a lot to keep on top of, so they’re after someone who stays organised, communicates clearly and doesn’t mind getting into the fine detail. Here’s what the role really involves: Linking the product solutions to every opening on the building and making sure each detail is correct Joining design meetings and talking through the technical side with clients, architects and contractors Building accurate, well-structured product schedules in Excel that reflect drawings, specs and client requirements Bringing structural engineer information into those schedules so everything ties together Producing manufacturing information and take-offs that production can rely on Issuing technical submissions and keeping all the supporting data organised and accurate Spotting potential problems early and offering practical solutions to keep things moving Helping the wider team avoid unnecessary cost, delays or confusion They’re not looking for someone who wants to sit quietly waiting for instructions. They want someone who notices things, asks questions and takes responsibility for getting the details right. To do well here, you should: Be confident working with Excel, including formulas and larger datasets Be comfortable reading drawings and technical documents and turning them into actionable information Communicate clearly with clients, architects, project managers and production teams Stay organised even when juggling multiple deadlines Have a solid technical or maths-based background that helps you work through complex information Be someone who naturally pays attention to detail and doesn’t let things slide If you’ve used AutoCAD, worked with glazing products or dealt with warranty providers like NHBC or Premier before, that’s a bonus. But ultimately they want someone practical, steady and switched-on. If you’re the kind of person who gets satisfaction from making sure technical information is right, complete and ready for production - and you like being the person others rely on for clarity - this is a role where you’ll be genuinely valued.
