The Role
You'll take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, delivering high‑quality bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts. This is an ideal move for someone who thrives on variety, client contact, and end‑to‑end accounting responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain full bookkeeping across multiple clients, including ledgers, bank recs, expenses, credit cards and intercompany activity
Process and reconcile foreign currency and multi‑currency transactions
Deliver client services such as raising sales invoices, credit control, and managing supplier/employee payments
Prepare high‑quality management accounts including prepayments, accruals, depreciation and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and submit UK and non‑UK VAT returns, ensuring compliance with current regulations
Support VAT registrations, deregistrations and respond to ad hoc client queries
Build strong client relationships, offering clear advice and resolving issues promptly
Work confidently with cloud accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and automation tools such as Hubdoc/Dext
Maintain accurate records, timesheets and ensure work is delivered to deadline and expected quality

What We're Looking For
Essential
AAT qualified, ACCA part‑qualified, or QBE
Minimum 5 years' accountancy practice experience with multi‑client exposure
Strong double‑entry bookkeeping and management accounting skills
Proven experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts
Proficiency in Xero and QuickBooks
Strong Excel skills (formulas and functions)
Excellent communication and client‑facing confidence
Highly organised, detail‑driven, able to prioritise and self-manage effectively
A stable work history — not someone who frequently changes roles

Desirable
Sage experience
Knowledge of foreign currency and cross‑border VAT rules (training provided)
