Role Description
· Provide hands-on geological support including interpretation of geological and petrophysical data, structural and sedimentological mapping, formation evaluation and log interpretation
· Generate and maintain 3D geocellular models (RFD-tNav) for; well planning, volumetric assessment and input into simulation models
· Develop or conduct geological and reservoir studies for input to Field Development Plans (FDP), reservoir surveillance and opportunity identification
· Produce well proposals and work closely with (internal or 3rd party) Well Engineering team on all drilling programmes and exploitation opportunities including well design, well stimulation, well completions and workovers
· Identify and quantify key subsurface risks and uncertainties impacting future field development and make recommendations to mitigate and manage such risks (including both geological risk and risk associated with data quality or model assumptions)
· Coordinate with production/operations teams to enhance recovery on working fields (i.e. gas well deliquification, water injection work, monitoring/requesting well tests, fluid levels, identifying new water injection/disposal wells etc.)
· Coordinate operations geology work including data acquisition and analysis studies
· Manage 3rd party specialist geological contractors (petrophysics, geomechanics, sedimentology, geochemistry etc.)
· Undertake basin-wide resource assessments including play parameter and composite common risk segment mapping, volumetric calculations and uncertainty analysis
· Provide support to planning and permitting teams for drilling, stimulation and well testing planning submissions
· Provide input for and in some cases lead partner meetings including workshops and technical committee meetings
· Contribute to M&A or licence acquisition opportunities
· Management of license commitments, and engagement with regulatory bodies (NSTA, EA and Local Authorities)
· Provide technical input during tendering processes and the preparations of AFEs
Qualifications
· Bachelor Degree or higher in Geoscience discipline
· Significant geological experience with an operation E&P company
· Development and Operational Geological experience
· UK onshore experience desirable
· Team player with ability to work collaboratively
