Practice Nurse – Swanley Medical Practice

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Swanley Medical Practice for the recruitment of a highly motivated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our welcoming and well-supported team.
Type: Full-time or Part-time (Flexible hours)
Availability: Monday to Friday 08:00-18:30, Saturday availability beneficial. Possible working on Mondays until 20:00.
Responsibilities
* Deliver practice nursing services as part of the multidisciplinary team.
* Identify, manage, and support patients at risk of developing long‑term conditions; prevent adverse health effects.
* Provide routine nursing care based on NICE, NSF guidelines, vaccinations/immunisations, travel medicine, wound care, and chronic disease clinics.
* Request pathology services, process results, and make referrals to secondary/specialist care when required.
* Prioritise health issues, recognise and refer patients with mental health needs, support medication use, and safeguard patients.
* Deliver opportunistic health promotion and manage emergency drug kits.
* Support health‑promotion initiatives and patient education programmes.
* Adhere to infection control protocols and assist in maintaining cleanliness of clinical areas.
* Collaborate with GPs, nurses, administrative staff and other professionals to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse qualification, registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and a valid NMC PIN.
* Excellent communication and people skills.
* Ability to work in demanding environments, both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
* Compassionate, patient‑centred approach to care.
Desirable
* Knowledge of EMIS and General Practice Nursing.
