RAC has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Discount Modelling Analyst to join our Consumer Pricing & Value team. This role offers significant opportunity to influence RAC’s pricing and discounting approach across our largest P&L, supporting trading performance, profitability and customer outcomes.
This is a senior, hands-on analytical role where you’ll lead the development of best-in-class discounting models using expert analysis, market insight and innovation. Working closely with senior stakeholders and pricing specialists, your work will directly shape how RAC prices, discounts and competes in a highly regulated and competitive market.

What You’ll Do
Pricing, Discounting & Modelling Leadership
1. Lead the development and enhancement of discount and pricing models that drive acquisition, retention and profitability
2. Use statistical modelling techniques (e.g. Emblem, Python) to predict customer behaviour such as propensity to purchase, cancel or claim
3. Investigate new modelling approaches, data enrichment and techniques to improve model predictiveness
4. Analyse price trials and competitor pricing data to support price and discount optimisation
5. Lead the development of forecasting models and clearly explain weekly and annual variance versus forecast
Data, Validation & Optimisation
6. Own data production for modelling activity, reconciling and validating datasets to ensure high-quality inputs
7. Explore new tools, software and techniques to improve data processing efficiency and modelling capability
8. Validate pricing model performance over time, ensuring models are deployed correctly and remain effective
9. Recommend and implement corrective actions where model performance deviates from expectations
Governance, Regulation & Stakeholder Engagement
10. Ensure pricing and discounting activity aligns with FCA regulatory guidance
11. Adhere to robust governance and pricing sign-off processes
12. Partner closely with the Retention Squad, Pricing, Finance, Marketing and Insights teams
13. Build trusted, credible relationships with senior stakeholders, compliance and leadership teams
14. Support delivery of Consumer pricing strategy and initiatives across the Division
What You’ll Bring
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
15. Strong experience in pricing or technical discount modelling within Insurance, Banking, Finance or a similar industry
16. Proven experience leading discount modelling activity
17. Deep technical knowledge of pricing and analytical techniques, including GLMs / GBMs
18. Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving capability
19. Experience using coding tools such as SQL, Snowflake or SAS
20. Experience with visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
21. Strong experience with statistical modelling software
22. Exposure to optimisation tools (Radar Optimiser, Earnix) advantageous but not required

25. Commercially minded with strong financial acumen and business case ownership

Qualifications
28. Relevant numerate degree or post-graduate qualification

This role follows a hybrid model, with required office attendance in our Bradley Stoke, Bristol office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Salary aligned with market and experience, plus a conditional annual bonus.
