An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Test Analyst to join our IT Testing Team at Hampshire County Council.

The Role:
As a Test Analyst, your role will be varied, and you will have the opportunity to test a wide range of applications and websites. You will be expected to understand technical specifications and to produce appropriate documentation to support the testing process.
What you’ll do:
1. Write appropriate documentation, including test strategies, plans, cases and scripts
2. Agree plans for testing with stakeholders and co-ordinate testing activities
3. Carry out different types of testing, including functional, usability, integration, regression, performance and load testing
4. Identify and log defects in a defect tracking tool and manage defect resolution
5. Provide customer acceptance testing support before and during user testing
6. Communicate testing progress and issues to interested parties throughout the project life-cycle
7. Work independently on a project or as part of a team of testers
8. Work on multiple projects/activities at any one time
9. Provide advice and guidance on quality and testing
10. Provide test estimates
11. Ensure that testing is achieved within the allocated budget and time-frame
12. Use Azure DevOps to support the testing process
13. Use Microsoft Office Tools for administrative tasks
What we’re looking for:
14. Strong and proven background in software testing/web application testing
15. An enthusiasm for quality and appreciation of the importance of testing in the SDLC
16. Effective communication skills - oral, written and presentation
17. Able to establish effective working relationships with people at all levels
18. Self-motivated and able to use own initiative
19. Good organisational skills and approaches tasks methodically
20. Natural curiosity and good problem-solving skills
21. Pays attention to detail
22. Experience of using Microsoft Office Tools
23. Experience of working with a defect and task tracking tool (e.g. Azure DevOps)
24. Experience of working with a test management tool to create and run test cases, manage defects and track testing progress (e.g. Azure DevOps)
