Overview
We are looking for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic clinical pharmacist to join our Emergency Care Team. As part of this well established team of clinical pharmacists and technicians you will support the Lead Pharmacist in the development of our service to optimise medicines use and deliver patient-centred pharmaceutical care to patients on our acute admissions unit.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Pharmacy Team Leader in delivering, developing and evaluating the day‑to‑day clinical pharmacy service to A&E, Ambulatory Care and Acute Admissions Unit within the Trust.
* Provide expert advice on pharmaceutical matters, undertake risk management and ensure compliance with medicines legislation.
* Facilitate and support medicines optimisation, putting the patient at the centre of their care and delivering optimal quality, value and outcomes from medicines use.
* Participate in clinical audit and practice research in their area of specialisation.
* Act as an independent pharmacist prescriber in an agreed area of competency, where qualified, to meet local patient needs.
* Support new hospital development and theatre upgrades as part of the Trust’s expansion plans.
Qualifications
* Experienced clinical pharmacist with excellent communication, training and clinical skills.
* Proven leadership qualities and strong negotiating skills.
* Ability to relate well to patients and members of the clinical team.
* Flexible approach and willingness to adapt to new projects and environments.
* Relevant qualifications for pharmacist prescriber, where required.
