Our client is a leading provider of IT Support Solutions within the Education sector. Established for many years they are hugely successful and respected in the sector helping schools achieve their best standards of learning and development through technology. We are now looking IT Support Engineer to join the team. Experienced in 2nd line IT support we are looking for someone that has experience of working onsite with clients, great communication skills as well as the technical IT support engineer knowledge. Service desk knowledge would also be useful as this role will be split 3 days in the office and 2 days in the field, so it gives a good variety and the office has lots going on. Main Responsibilities as IT Engineer
* Based from home two days a week looking after your portfolio of schools
* Providing a planned and reactive service to your sites across all of their IT Support needs
* Spending 2-3 days a week on the service desk working with your own clients and getting involved with other clients too
* Working closely with the senior engineers and the project team
* Installing, maintaining a range of software, hardware and accessories including interactive whiteboards and learning tools
* Maintaining and developing excellent client relationships
* Handling all technical IT support problems and issues that may arise
* Devising plans with the client to ensure continuity of service and best use of budgets
* Liaising with multiple contacts for different departments across site
Main Skills
* A background in 2nd line IT support, ideally with field experience and some service desk
* Corporate or education sector experience
* Possess great communication skills and an ability to build client relationships effectively
* Technical knowledge of:
* Windows Server 2008 – 2016
* Assisting with managing Active Directory environments and using Group Policy in an environment of 30+ devices
* DNS, DHCP, and the TCP/IP suite
* WDS, MDT, or other imaging tools (both creating and deploying images)
* Windows 7 – 10
* Office 365
