Pizza perfectionists only. Looking for an experienced pizza chef who wants to grow into a role with more responsibility and leadership. The role will primarily be based at the restaurant Wednesday to Saturday but may include some hours at the frozen pizza business which operates daytime hours.
Our focus is pizza, slow fermented (72 hours +) sourdough base, but we also make a range of gelato and complimentary sides. We have an open kitchen for customers to watch pizzas being made.
We are always striving to improve what we do, how we do it and ultimately what we offer, providing a consistently high standard of food. Mastering our core service will be a primary focus during the initial period but there is huge scope for creative freedom and bringing your passions to Bertha's be that fermentation, foraging, funky flour, fried chicken or flower arranging.

Shifts: 35-45 hour, mixture of daytimes, evenings and weekends.
We will agree a guaranteed minimum number of hours with you depending on what both you and Bertha's require. You must be available to work regularly over weekends and evenings. Hours would typically be spread over 4 (occasionally 3 or 5) days providing plenty of free time.
Shifts vary with daytime hours focusing on frozen production, preparing dough and ingredients ready for the evening and weekend services where you'll be stretching dough or cooking in our beautiful Stefano Ferrara oven.

Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas to high standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
* Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are followed.
* Train and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
* Manage inventory and food production processes to maintain efficiency.
* Provide exceptional hospitality to guests, addressing any concerns promptly.
* Collaborate with management to develop new pizza recipes and menu items.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Pizza Chef with a strong focus on pizza preparation and cooking techniques
* Solid culinary background with extensive kitchen experience
* Demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment
* Knowledge of food safety standards and practices
* Ability to manage and supervise kitchen staff effectively
* Excellent hospitality skills and a passion for delivering high-quality food and service
