The role: Store Manager
Responsible to: Area Manager
Job Summary and Mission
To effectively manage the store, maximising sales to exceed targets. To deliver outstanding personal customer service whilst motivating and developing the store team to do the same. To maintain the highest possible standards of merchandising, housekeeping and general safety whilst adhering to, and enforcing, company policies and procedures. Make People Smile! Through the product, the prices and the service.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
* Leadership
* Setting SMART goals for the team, developing staff capability, and role modelling company best practice.
* Maintain calm during peak customer volume and ensure smooth transitions to keep the store operating to standard and set a positive example for the team.
* Train and hold the team accountable for delivering legendary customer service.
* Drive the implementation of company programs by motivating and instructing the store team.
* Operate with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote Cards Direct’s culture, values and mission.
* Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
* Provide coaching and direction to achieve operational goals.
* Regularly review store environment and key business indicators to identify problems and opportunities for improvement.
* Planning and Execution
* Monitor and manage store staffing levels for optimal development and recruitment.
* Utilise tools to communicate clearly and ensure effective store operations and merchandising standards.
* Business Requirements
* Solicit customer feedback to understand needs in the local community.
* Use operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the store.
* Use management information tools and financial analyses to address trends and issues in store performance.
* Ensure product and cash security at all times.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policy at all times.
* Staff Development & Team Building
* Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to build effective teams.
* Regularly provide feedback and set challenging goals to improve performance; inspire team to achieve business results.
* Ensure compliance with legal and operational requirements; recognise and reinforce accomplishments.
* Demonstrate effective management to create a respectful store environment.

* Customer service experience in a retail environment
