Job: Electrical Maintenance Technician/Engineer
Location: Whitstable, Kent
Hours: 8am till 4.10pm, Monday to Friday

Role Summary: As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical operations across our factory. You will provide a combination of reactive maintenance and planned preventative work, supporting both the Whitstable facility and broader operations. Your role is critical in minimizing equipment downtime, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and machinery to ensure consistent performance and reliability.
* Respond quickly and effectively to electrical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and completing repairs to minimize disruption.
* Oversee the installation, commissioning, and servicing of new and existing equipment.
* Support the entire equipment lifecycle, providing expert troubleshooting and long-term solutions for electrical issues.
* Take ownership of facility electrical maintenance, including small-scale building work or coordinating with third-party contractors.
* Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and service reports.
* Supervise contractors as needed and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Support mechanical colleagues and assist with cross-functional tasks when required.
* Contribute to engineering and development projects, offering electrical expertise during planning and implementation.
* Assist in training and supporting staff on best practices for operational and electrical maintenance.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience in an electrical maintenance role within a factory or industrial environment.
* Strong working knowledge of 3-phase systems and industrial wiring.
* 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certification.
* Solid understanding of electrical safety, compliance, and fault-finding techniques.
* Experience working with rolling mills, press brakes, industrial riveters, and clinching equipment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); capable of managing maintenance records and reporting.
* Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively
* Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs, offering added flexibility to the maintenance team.
* Experience working with control panel circuits and automation systems.
