Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is capable of working as part of our friendly team. The role provides a full complement of secretarial and administrative services to the Pharmacy Department, Medicines Management Diagnostic and Corporate Services Team within Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post supports specialist and general administration for all pharmacy services to improve patient care and promote evidence-based, cost-effective prescribing across the Trust. The role includes comprehensive administration and secretarial support to facilitate workflow, supply and dispensing of medicines for Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities
* Provide word processing, Excel spreadsheets, audio typing and typing of correspondence, and undertake departmental communication as instructed by the Pharmacy Administration Manager.
* Act as a point of contact in the Pharmacy Office for inquiries both internally and externally.
* Be responsible for the collection and updating of directorate databases and spreadsheets.
* Ensure compliance with Trust procedures and policies within the Pharmacy Department including sickness returns.
* Provide comprehensive high quality administration support to the Pharmacy Administration Manager to facilitate safe, effective departmental services and optimise patient care.
* Maintain, update and implement existing guidelines as identified by the Pharmacy Administration Manager or Business Manager to optimise patient care.
* Provide the Pharmacy Directorate with secretarial/administrative services, including electronic diary keeping, ordering stationery, typing, filing, photocopying, and opening and distributing mail.
* Assist with the production of invoices via the Oracle system relating to monthly supplies to local hospitals, community clinics, local pharmacies/chemists and private companies.
* Responsible for issuing clinical prescription pads for both the Hospital and individuals.
* Maintain directorate databases on weekend working, annual leave and study leave for the Director of Pharmacy.
* Assist with the coordination of Directorate monitoring of mandatory training.
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE Standard with extensive comprehensive administration support to facilitate effective departmental services and optimise patient care.

We are a small friendly team based within Planned Care - Pharmacy Department at Bradford Royal Infirmary. We pride ourselves on providing a comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to our 170 plus Clinical Pharmacy and wider Pharmacy staff. Our working days are varied and fast paced, the role offers challenges to both support and overcome on a frequent basis.
