Teaching Commitment: To undertake 886 hours of teaching annually.
Summary of Responsibilities
Assist in the development and delivery of the managed learning of students.
Principal Duties
* Teach within the Engineering team on a range of programmes, delivering effective learning for students particularly in Electrical/Electronics at level 3 to level 6.
* Directly involved in the delivery and management of student learning within the Curriculum area.
* Fully conversant with course regulations and specifications for the defined area, ensuring conformity and best practice.
* Assist in the development and delivery of related programmes.
* Collaborate with other staff to ensure a high standard of teaching and learning.
* Assist with securing quality improvement within the Curriculum area.
* Monitor student recruitment, retention and achievement and take remedial action where necessary.
* Use effectively the systems used in the college (e-tracker, Canvas, internal verification, etc.) to ensure student success.
* Responsible for meeting recruitment targets, including participation in interviews, open days and specific curriculum events.
* Maintain an awareness of Health and Safety at all times and ensure that students are aware of safe practices and procedures.
