We are looking for an Assistant Controller / Business Analyst to provide financial, commercial and operational support to promote growth, profitability and business change by working closely with key business stakeholders in Leicester.

About the role
On a day-today basis this is what you would be doing:
Ownership and control of a key business area
Manage financial month-end processes including accruals, prepayment and journal entries
Supporting the Business Control team in both operational and financial decisions
Prepare and delivery monthly management accounts and divisional performance results
Provide analytical insight and variance analysis to explain performance against budget, forecast and prior periods
Maintain and reconcile the balance sheet
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
Develop and enhance reporting tools
We are looking for somebody who has experience in an accounting, financial control, statistical analysis or a planning role to provide analytical, commercial and financial support also to support the cross divisional objectives of the Business Control team.

Accounting qualification or experience in accounting, financial control r management reporting
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Good negotiation skills
Excellent working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft programmes including PowerBI PowerPivot and SQL knowledge
Good commercial awareness
Effective communicator
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Experience in building and maintaining effective trust-based relationships with multiple stakeholders
