We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated full-time Qualified Dental Nurse to join the team in the HDFT Community Dental Services. The position is placed on the AFC Band 4 pay scale.
The Community Dental Service provides dental treatment for children, adults, and older people with additional needs, such as learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or vulnerability, who are unable to access general dental care.
This role is based in Harrogate, and the successful candidate will work across the West Locality Community Dental Services team and the Dental Services General Anaesthetic team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.
Indicative timetable of hours and days:
Monday to Thursday 8.30 - 12.30, 13.30 - 17.00
Friday 8.30 - 12.30, 13.00 - 16.30

* Carry out clerical, administrative, and clinical duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinic.
* Maintain a high standard of infection prevention and control within the dental clinics.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Salaried Primary Care Dental Service operates within the Community Children’s and Countywide Care Directorate, providing comprehensive clinical and administrative procedures for patients, including those with special needs, challenging behaviors, communication difficulties, dental phobias, or complex medical histories.

Person specification
* Good general education, including skills in written and oral English and basic maths.
* NEBDN Certificate and/or an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent.
* Registered with the General Dental Council as a Dental Care Professional.
* At least 3 years of experience as a Dental Nurse.
* Up-to-date knowledge of all areas of Dental Nursing.
* Competent in basic MS Office and IT applications.
* Additional qualifications in Sedation, Radiography, Special Care Dentistry, or Oral Health Promotion are desirable.
* ECDL or similar IT training.
* Experience working with patients with special care needs and dental administration, including familiarity with SOE (Software of Excellence).
