Are you an experienced HR leader looking for a rare opportunity to shape the people strategy of a successful and growing international privately owned business?
A well-established UK headquartered group with multiple sites across the UK and overseas is seeking a Group HR Director to lead its next phase of development. The business is highly entrepreneurial, fast paced and commercially successful, and is now building the structure needed to support continued international growth.
This is a hands on role where you will be instrumental in designing, implementing and embedding HR frameworks, systems and practices from the ground up.
Retained Assignment

Role Overview
This is a newly created position reporting directly to the Group CEO and working closely with the wider leadership team across the UK and international sites.
In the first 6 to 12 months, the focus will be on the hands on delivery of essential HR foundations. You will be responsible for creating and implementing core HR processes, policies and controls to support the day to day running of the group. This will include systems, compliance, reporting and consistent ways of working.
Once those foundations are in place, the role will evolve into a more strategic focus on organisational development, leadership capability, and ultimately the longer term cultural transformation needed to support the group’s ambitions.
You will play a central role in building a high performing and collaborative working environment that retains the entrepreneurial spirit and people centred culture that has underpinned the group’s success to date.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver a scalable HR strategy across the group
* Implement consistent HR processes, systems and tools to support operational effectiveness
* Introduce structure around performance management, reward and talent development
* Build leadership and management capability at all levels
* Develop organisational development programmes aligned to business goals
* Partner with senior leadership to shape and evolve a high performance culture
* Lead on employee engagement, retention and communication strategies
* Ensure compliance with employment legislation across all locations
* Take ownership of compensation, benefits and policy frameworks
What We Are Looking For
* Minimum of 5 years in a senior HR leadership role
* Experience working across multi-site and international environments
* Strong background in implementing HR systems and scalable processes
* Able to combine strategic thinking with practical delivery
* Exposure to both corporate and SME or family owned business settings is desirable
* Commercially aware, people focused and confident working in an evolving business
* Strong communication and influencing skills with a collaborative approach
* A leader who inspires trust and drives change in a positive and inclusive way
The Package
* Package: Up to £100k salary (based on level of experience) + company car
* Bonus: Up to 30 percent of salary (performance based)
* Location: Based at the Rushden head office
* Flexibility: Occasional home working to support smart working practices
* Travel: Regular travel to UK sites, with occasional international travel as required
