Health Care Support Worker

We have an opportunity for a Health care support workers to join our dedicated team on Ward 12 RGH which is an acute medical ward, specializing in Endocrineology and Care of the elderly medicine.
We are looking for reliable, motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the team.
The individuals will be required to work under the direction of the registered nurse, ensuring high standards of care are provided and maintained at all times.
Main duties of the job
Successful candidate will be caring for patients who have been defined to Endocrineology medicine and Care of the elderly.
You will be responsible for providing care for patients who require assistance with all activities of daily living including washing, dressing, mobilising, feeding and pressure area care.
Successful candidate will also be expected to complete documentation to an acceptable standard and assist in keeping ward area clean and clutter free.
The applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with the ability to use their own initiative.
Flexibility regarding shift patterns is essential.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn't "fluency", just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. The Health Board currently operate a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30 minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements. CTM is a Health Board committed to meaningful consultation with staff and to making balanced decisions that consider all aspects of our service and workforce.

Experience
* Care experience
* Ability to work as a member of the team but also to show initiative to work alone
* Ability to work supervised and in non supervised circumstances
* Experience of dealing with members of the public
* NVQ level2 in care
Skills
* Well organized in approach to work tasks
* Understand the importance of reporting to the nurse in charge
* Flexible approach to the needs of the service
* Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
