As a Senior Solicitor, you’ll enjoy a high level of autonomy, handling complex cases from start to finish, ensuring that each is conducted with a proactive and commercially focused approach. You will correspond regularly with clients, medical experts, and other stakeholders to provide clear, informed guidance and maintain strong, supportive relationships. Main Responsibilities:
Accountable for:
14. Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to customers
15. Proactive and commercial case management and progression
16. Supporting the Team Leader in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial performance KPIs
17. Effective and thorough time recording
Responsible for:
18. Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader and members of the team
19. Identifying cases which are ready for LOC, settlement and service within the team
20. Working with the team to ensure that relevant information is being collected and collated to enable the progression of the case
21. Management of a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
22. Co-ordinating the progression of cases with all internal and external parties
23. Drafting of legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
24. Negotiating settlement and the issuing and service of proceedings should it be required
25. Overseeing the documentation and correspondence produced by the team
26. Advising the team on any technical issues arising from
Essential Skills and Experience:
27. Recent experience of handling a case load
28. 8 years+ PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
29. Excellent organisational and time management skills
30. Excellent communication and drafting skills
31. Excellent IT skills especially in respect of Microsoft Office packages, proclaim and excel
32. Excellent attention to detail
33. Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
34. Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
35. Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
36. Excellent Client Care Skills
