Job Title: IVVQ Manager
Base location: Cheadle / Templecombe / Crawley
We offer a hybrid working model with a standard 4‑day per week schedule at the above sites.
Primary Purpose Of The Role
To lead virtual teams, taking overall responsibility for system integration and system testing, including review and authorisation of test specifications, approval of testing, reporting, and defect investigation.
Key Responsibilities And Tasks
* Be the principal point of contact with the client, gain approval of test specifications and host acceptance testing activities.
* Authorise the execution of Test Specifications, test plans and strategy documents, and executing test plans according to the project schedule.
* Approve test results, raise, investigate and verify defects.
* Set and agree quality targets and standards.
* Escalate issues to the Systems Engineering Manager where necessary.
* Provide status reports to the Systems Engineering Manager.
* Schedule and chair Gate reviews (TRR, TQR and FQR).
* Accurately collate work progress reports and estimates for all IVVQ work packages.
* Lead investigations of problems in the field or with IVVQ documentation.
* Approve, implement and maintain tools relevant to the Systems IVVQ Engineering function.
* Lead the assessment of relevant tools.
* Keep abreast of technical development in IVVQ both within and outside the company.
* Lead the production of System IVVQ Engineering estimates at optimum cost.
* Produce quality metrics to measure the soundness of Systems IVVQ Engineering processes.
* Work with project planners to provide detailed input to specific project programmes.
* Represent Systems IVVQ Engineering at formal Design Reviews, focusing on reducing design risks.
* Lead IVVQ Cost Reviews as part of a Bid team.
Skills (Underpinning Knowledge)
* Able to use a range of IT tools.
* Has a sound ability to use and/or assess Systems IVVQ Engineering tools.
* Has knowledge of configuration control.
* Can define and interpret IVVQ metrics as part of quality control.
* A working knowledge of project plans.
* Has a working knowledge of Engineering Safety Management.
Experience
* The IVVQ Manager must resolve all issues, problems, questions and conflicts in the entire IVVQ system, demonstrating proven experience leading a Systems IVVQ Engineering environment.
* Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels in spoken and written form, with a good outward appearance, self‑motivation and the ability to work under pressure.
* Must provide evidence of leading a team within the Systems IVVQ Engineering job family.
Desirable Qualifications And Certification
* HND/Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent.
Financial / Budgetary Responsibility
* The post holder will be expected to deliver designs/projects to an agreed budget.
Clearance
This role requires SC Clearance. The successful candidate must either hold SC clearance or obtain it within the recruitment process. In line with Thales' baseline security requirements, candidates will need to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK, and education/employment history for up to three years. Generally, full SC is awarded to those who have resided in the UK for the last five years.
