Secondary Teaching Assistant Derbyshire (DE6) 455- 480 per week Long Term Role Starting ASAP
The Opportunity:
* Provide academic and pastoral support to students across a range of subjects in years 7, 8 & 9 (Key Stage 3) in a mainstream secondary school.
* Proven experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis.
* Ability to work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider team.
* Full-time role, Monday to Friday. Paid up to 480 per week, term-time only.
* September start with potential for a long-term placement situated in Derbyshire (DE6).
Key Responsibilities:
* Work under the guidance of the SENCo to deliver tailored support strategies
* Provide 1:1 and small group assistance to students with a variety of special educational needs across all years
* Support students to remain engaged and focused on lessons, adapting resources where needed
* Assist with differentiation, coursework, and organisation to help students access the full curriculum
* Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment through strong behaviour management skills
* Liaise regularly with teaching staff and the SEN team to monitor progress and adjust support strategies accordingly
We're Looking For:
* A minimum Level 3 qualification (essential).
* Experience working in a secondary school or supporting students with SEN.
* A patient, adaptable, and supportive approach to working with students.
* Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
* Ability to inspire and encourage students, creating a positive learning environment.
* A strong commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.
