Key responsibilities
1. Leading clinics and delivering outstanding patient care
2. Using the latest testing technology to assess eye health and provide expert advice
3. Providing enhanced services, from triage support to advanced assessments, depending on store needs
4. Offering clinical support to colleagues on the shop floor
5. Collaborating with external healthcare professionals
6. Keeping your clinical knowledge up to date and sharing it with others
7. Playing a key role in your store's leadership team, bringing energy and insight to every shift
What you'll need to have (our must-haves)
8. We're looking for Optometrists who are confident, compassionate, and always focused on doing the right thing for patients.
9. GOC registered (or expecting to be within 6 months)
10. NHS performer number (or working towards it)
11. Excellent communication and organisation skills
12. A genuine interest in patient care and team collaboration
It would be great if you also have
13. Experience supporting enhanced services
14. A strong understanding of local clinical networks

We are looking for an Experienced Optometrist to join our Exeter practice, on a full-time basis
The position is full-time; weekend working is required in this role on a rota basis (e.g., 1 in 2 Saturdays and 1 in 3 Sundays) – we understand the importance of flexible working and are open to a conversation around fixed non-working days to help accommodate individual circumstances.
This is a busy flagship store in the Centre of Exeter, recently refitted the store is bright, modern and sits within a Boots UK store alongside Hearing Care. There is a customer centric environment where; the team takes pride in their work and work together as a team, supporting one another even during busy, or challenging times.
Exeter is a vibrant cathedral city in the heart of Devon, offering a perfect blend of history, culture and modern living. Known for its stunning architecture, green spaces, and proximity to the beautiful Devon coastline and Dartmoor National Park, it's an ideal location for those who enjoy both city life and outdoor adventures. Exeter is home to the prestigious University of Exeter, contributing to a lively and diverse atmosphere as well as a thriving shopping district, independent cafes and a strong sense of community.
The city boasts excellent transport links, including direct rail services to London and easy access to the M5 - Park and ride services are available and within the vicinity of the practice, are paid multi storey car parks that will vary in cost, some have contract parking available.
