Job summary
The Patient Safety Manager will be a key member of CHEC's Quality, Risk and Compliance Team, contributing to all aspects of patient safety and incident management to support the delivery of high-quality, safe care for all service users. This is a new role, and we seek someone capable of coordinating and implementing the NHS Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) in collaboration with Regional Heads of Quality Governance, Risk & Patient Safety, the Chief Nurse, and the Chief Medical Officer.
Main duties of the job
1. Promote a systems approach to incident investigations.
2. Ensure patient safety incidents are recorded in the central database and reported to the Learning from Patient Safety Events (LFPSE) Lead or support patient safety improvement projects.
3. Lead the implementation of the NHS patient safety strategy and response framework.
4. Develop and deliver education programmes on patient safety.
5. Collaborate with the Governance Team and Regional Quality Governance, Risk & Patient Safety Leads to promote patient safety, clinical quality, and the Clinical Governance strategy within the hospital.
6. Develop and implement patient safety systems, processes, and initiatives aligned with national and organisational needs.
